Common Questions
How much do alterations cost?
Alteration costs vary because every gown and bride is unique. Pricing is determined à la carte based on the specific alterations needed and the labor involved. At your fitting, your seamstress will carefully assess your gown, explain any necessary adjustments, and provide recommendations to create the perfect custom fit for your special occasion.
How many fittings will I need?
Most brides need two to three fittings, though gowns with custom work may need more. Your dedicated seamstress will map out your schedule at your first appointment.
Do you alter gowns purchased somewhere else?
Yes. We welcome wedding and formal gowns purchased elsewhere, including heirloom dresses. Give us a call so we can talk through your gown and timeline.
What if I’m traveling in for my fittings?
We work with out-of-town brides regularly and can often condense your fittings into fewer visits or coordinate a rush alterations appointment for a quick turn-around time. Call us as early as you can and we’ll do our best to accommodate a schedule around your travel.
My wedding is soon — can you still help?
What should I bring to my fitting?
- Your wedding shoes — or a pair with the same heel height, but your exact shoes you plan to wear on your special day are preferred.
- Wedding accessories — Bring any accessories you’d like altered with your gown, such as your veil, belt, sleeves, overskirt, fabric, etc.
- Undergarments or shapewear — If you have already purchased your wedding-day undergarments or shapewear, please bring them with you. If not, your seamstress will recommend the best options based on your gown and desired fit.
How many guests can I bring to my alterations appointment?
We allow up to two guests at your fittings. Guests will have to be seated outside due to the limited space where fittings are held. Bringing guests aren’t necessary for the first fitting, but having someone present during the final fitting is recommended so they may learn how to properly assist putting on the gown & bustle. If a guest is unable to attend, ask one of our seamstresses to record the process for you.
★★★★★“Bridal Gallery is fantastic and I recommend it to any bride looking for their wedding dress. What made it even more special was the alterations process all being in house. I tried on a dress I loved, but it didn’t check all the boxes for my vision. They offered to work with me to customize the ‘missing’ pieces. Hanna in alterations made my dress exactly as I wanted. She was so gracious in accepting feedback and truly ensuring it was perfect. I am so excited to wear the dress!”
